The Dordogne River
Dordogne is one of the most famous and picturesque regoins in France and offers wonderful opportunities for fishing. In places the Dordogne River is only 6.5 miles from Le Duc. (See the map on the left).
From Argentat to Beaulieu (about 20 miles away) is the cleanest part of the river, and is where you can fish for grayling, there are also trout in this part of the river. From Beaulieu the river is also clean and is fast flowing, and except in spate, relatively shallow, therefore Fishing is most often done from the bank or by wading. This is also a good part of the river for trout, particularly in the evening when there is less activity on the river.
